I’ve never read any of Sarah Dessen’s books, but they are apparently fantastic! The book blogger community goes mad for her!

Long time no post, Tumblr!

It’s been a long time guys! I’ve been trying to set up a book blog (find the link below this post) and so far I’m doing pretty well! I’ve had nearly 3,000 visitors in less than two months and I’ve managed to get in touch with a few publishers :) I think that’s where my enjoyment lies at the moment, but I’ll pop in here every now and again just to say hi and do some non-pressured blogging. I miss some of you over here! Come and follow me on my book blog (http://www.karlareads.blogspot.com) and make me happy, or at least comment..?

I’m decorating my bedroom tomorrow, I’ve got gorgeous Laura Ashley bedding, wallpaper and book ends so I’ll update with some pictures if you’d all like to see? Also I might do a vlog so you get a better idea of me, what do you think to that? Want to ask me some questions so that I have something to say/answer lol?

Karla Reads

Click the link if you are interested in reading reviews on YA and fantasy books! It’s my new blog and I aim to review everything I read. Some followers would be extremely encouraging so spread the word for me!? Hopefully when it gets up and running I will be hosting competitions with books as prizes :) I’m taking part in ‘waiting on’ Wednesday - a weekly meme on book blogs that showcases up and coming releases that we’re looking forward to (first WoW to come tomorrow).

So please check it out. I love being part of the book blogging community and talking to fellow bookworms so feel free to comment on the site on anything you like! All of my contact info is on there also :)

Hope to see some of you there!

madame-giah asked: I really love your mac purple case! so sorry about your old mac though..I know how it feels to lose something of sentimental value and some things couldn't just be replaced easily even if it's just material-wise. Your post actually inspired me more to invest on a macbook. x :)

Wow thank-you! Haha, I had been thinking about buying a cheaper Windows PC for a while, maybe a DELL or something, but then when my MacBook Pro died I realised there is no way I could live without the Apple operating system haha. Sounds silly, but I guess it’s what you get used to.

Luckily, my boyfriend is a second year computer science student so knows his way around computers moderately well, and he managed to extract my old hard drive from the dead MacBook Pro and set it up in a portable casing, which meant that I could plug it into my new Mac and transfer all of my photos and music! It’s the best thing that could have possibly happened because I had three years worth of photographic memories on that thing!

So yeah, now with the pretty purple case and all of my photographs back on this Mac, it’s finally starting to feel like it’s my computer :) I would definitely recommend buying a MacBook, from personal experience, I can honestly say that they are easier to use than Windows and seem to have less problems. The only downside is, it seems to be harder to get such things as games etc for Mac in England, but there’s always a way! x

Possibly the nicest drink in the world, and I’ve only just discovered them today! Saw it advertised at cinema and my sister reassured me that cold coffee was lovely, but I still wasn’t convinced. My mum brought this home from Asda today and oh my god! It tastes so yummy! I thought it would become sickly but I think I could drink it all day, everyday, it’s so creamy and smooth haha! I’m definitely buying a large one next time I’m in Starbucks, I think I’m hooked :)

Feeling lethargic.

I’m in the mood where all I want to do is sleep for days on end. I think I need new glasses because my eyes are killing me at the moment and I’m struggling to focus, this is causing problems when all of my days consist of looking at a computer, TV screen or book at the moment. Chris has gone to make popcorn and is playing Dirt 3 on the Playstation and I’m sat her watching close to shut eye.

Rain makes me tired.

That point in the Summer.

I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve had around five weeks off university now, that’s including exam leave, and I’m bored! I miss having something to do and I miss having some pressure on me to get things done to a deadline. On one hand this is frustrating me because I actually have nothing I can do like that and on the other hand it’s really making me think about the future; my masters will definitely provide me with the pressure I crave in terms of deadlines but I also feel like I’m ready to step out of education now. I received a letter of acceptance through the post on Monday stating that I would be allocated a place on the Masters course if I achieved a second class degree, I thought the entry levels were a 2:1 or higher, but this just says a second class degree which I’m assuming to mean just a 2:2 or higher, which I’m definitely on track for!

I’m really doubting my money situation, even though I know I have to money to pay for my tuition fees and my dad (touch wood) seems to have got his act together and is sending me some money to live on weekly. I just feel like everything is going to be tight and now I owe my mum £1,000 for my MacBook Pro as well (that she said I can pay back when I have the money and am working), which doesn’t help the feeling of overwhelming stress! I want a job. Really badly. It would help so much in feeling like I’m not completely skint and would pay for things such as car MOT and insurance, but finding one in this city is near on impossible - my sister is on the look out for me, even if it’s just picking strawberries in a greenhouse for minimum wage; it’s something.

I want to do some writing, I’m craving academic writing. I’ve just installed Microsoft Office on my Mac and it’s made me want to type (hence the lengthy post on here!). I might start writing lengthy book reviews on my other blog, actually thinking in terms of academic reading skills and also post them on Goodreads - You never know, something might get picked up! Haha. I’d love to do that type of thing for a living; I enjoy reading, thinking and writing, so a job as a reviewer, critic or typist would be fantastic - where the hell do I start there?!

New Purple case for my Macbook Pro. I caved in and paid £25 because I couldn’t find them any cheaper :( But it does look pretty and it completely protects the top and bottom of the laptop. Got my old MacBook Pro back as well, the shop had had a delivery literally as we walked through the door so it was really good timing. Chris is going to try to remove the hard drive so that I can connect it to my new one and transfer all my stuff; photos, videos etc. (Don’t ask me how he’s going to do it, I have no idea, he’s like a computer nerd so…).

New MacBook Pro.

Mine had well and truly died unfortunately - the logic board had gone and that was going to cost around £500 to fix, which wasn’t worth it on a machine that was over three years old! So my mum has leant me the money and we’ve been to buy a new 13” MacBook Pro, which is pretty, but I don’t feel the same way about it as I did for my original :(
